Athens

Much has been discovered on Athens but still much has yet to be unraveled. With a well designed GPS game much of Athens ancient history can come to life in a fun and interactive way.

Athens got its name from the god Pallas Athena (The Guardian god of Athens). The most famous monument is the Parthenon Temple, which was built in honour of her on the Acropolis of Athens.

The Acropolis and other wonders

The Acropolis of Athens is an ancient citadel located on an extremely rocky outcrop above the city of Athens and contains the remains of several ancient buildings of great architectural and historic significance. Its most important buildings are the Parthenon, the Propylaia, the Erechtheion and the Temple of Athena Nike. While there is evidence that the hill was inhabited as far back as the fourth millennium BC, it was Pericles (c. 495 – 429 BC) in the fifth century BC who coordinated the construction of the site’s most important buildings
